The Green Bay Packers are sitting pretty at 2-1 after Week 3 of the 2023 season. They have picked up victories over the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints while suffering a loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Thus far, the team has outperformed the expectations that many people placed on them. No one expected much from the Packers this season after trading Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets during the offseason.

But, they will have a chance to cement their standing in the NFC North with a matchup against the Detroit Lions, who are also 2-1. The winner will take sole possession of the division and hold a one-game lead with the tiebreaker in hand.

If Green Bay is going to remain in that position all season, they need to address some of their weaknesses on the roster. In the opinion of Matt Holder of Bleacher Report, the biggest weakness for the team right now is the center position.

That is a spot Josh Myers has held down through three games and has produced middling numbers. He is ranked 28th out of 35 qualified centers with a PFF grade of 54.2. He has been so-so as a pass blocker with a grade of 69.6 but has been abysmal as a run blocker with a grade of 47.5. Only tight guard Jon Runyan Jr. and tight end Josiah Deguara have been worse in the run-blocking department.

The next position as the biggest weakness is nickleback. That is something that could change once Eric Stokes can get off the PUP List and return to the lineup. Kiesean Nixon is coming off his best game of the season against the Saints and has been the main slot corner thus far this season.

Third on Holder’s list is quarterback. Nothing will be changing there as the Packers are committed to Jordan Love. He has played well through three games but has had some accuracy issues that need to be cleaned up.

The depth along the offensive line is being tested early, which is the fourth weakness for the Packers. They are starting backups at left tackle and left guard with David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins being injured. Any more injuries and the team will be dipping into free agency.

Last but not least, running back is listed as a weakness. The lack of success for anyone at the position other than Aaron Jones has been concerning. AJ Dillon has not stepped up with Jones sidelined the last two games as the running game as a whole has been underwhelming in the early going.
