Green Bay fans received an unwelcome update Monday on former Packers star Davante Adams. Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay told reporters that Adams ruptured his hamstring and will be sidelined six to 10 weeks.

The news arrived less than a day after Adams limped off late in the Rams’ 18-16 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Adams remains a fan favorite in Wisconsin long after his departure. He spent eight seasons with the Packers after the team drafted him in the second round in 2014. His precise routes and reliable hands made him one of the most productive receivers of his era alongside quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The injury occurred on a non-contact play in the fourth quarter. Adams pulled up while running a route near the end zone, grabbed his left leg, and walked to the sideline. He did not return for the final snap of that drive.

Packers supporters have followed Adams closely since he left Green Bay. He recorded more than 600 receptions and 7,000 yards during his time with the team. Those totals placed him among the franchise’s all-time leaders in receiving production.

This latest setback echoes the hamstring issues that limited Adams late in the 2025 season with the Rams. He missed the final three regular-season games that year before returning for the playoffs. The current rupture diagnosis points to a longer recovery.

Adams finished Sunday with three catches for 39 yards before the injury. Through six games this season he had 30 receptions for 480 yards and four touchdowns. Those numbers show he has remained productive in his second year with Los Angeles.

Green Bay drafted Adams out of Fresno State and watched him develop into a multiple-time Pro Bowl selection. He led the NFL in receptions in 2018 and posted double-digit touchdowns in several seasons. His chemistry with Rodgers produced some of the most memorable throws in recent Packers history.

The six-to-10-week timeline means Adams will miss several upcoming Rams games. He is not expected to play against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7. Further absences will depend on how quickly the hamstring responds to treatment.

Many Packers fans still wear Adams jerseys on game days at Lambeau Field. His exit after the 2021 season came after contract discussions failed to produce a long-term deal. He was traded to the Raiders before later stops with the Jets and Rams.

McVay has not offered additional details beyond the confirmed rupture and projected absence. The Rams’ medical staff will oversee Adams’ rehabilitation, which typically begins with rest before advancing to strength work. Functional testing will determine when he can return to the field.

Adams’ production in Green Bay included a franchise-record 18 touchdown catches in one season. He also earned first-team All-Pro recognition multiple times. Those accomplishments keep him prominent in discussions about the best receivers in team history.

The injury interrupts Adams’ second season with the Rams after he signed a two-year contract following his release from the Jets.

Packers fans tracking Adams will watch for updates on his recovery in the coming weeks. No immediate roster moves have been announced by the Rams to address his absence. Depth at receiver will be tested while he works through the rehabilitation process.

The latest news serves as a reminder of the physical toll that has followed Adams since his Green Bay years. He has dealt with various lower-body issues across his career. The current timeline gives him a clear window before he can resume his role in the Rams’ offense.
