There are a lot of reasons for Green Bay Packers fans to be excited about the 2024 season. One of them is the draft class that was put together by general manager Brian Gutekunst and head coach Matt LaFleur.

They were able to address several of the team’s biggest needs while finding value throughout the draft. Several immediate contributors could emerge from this draft class, but the player fans are looking forward to seeing the most is linebacker Edgerrin Cooper.

One of the polls put together at Acme Packing Co. of SB Nation was which rookie will have the best 2024. In the opinion of the fan base, it is Cooper who will produce the most out of the rookie class.

He received over half of the votes, leading the way with 52 percent. Coming in second on the list was offensive lineman Jordan Morgan, the team’s first-round pick out of Arizona. Safety Javon Bullard, who was selected in the second round after Cooper, came in third with 15 percent of the vote. One percent voted other.

Somewhat surprising was the lack of attention for third-round pick MarShawn Lloyd. He will be competing with AJ Dillon for snaps behind Josh Jacobs, providing the team with elite athleticism out of the backfield. The coaching staff has already said they will be looking for ways to get him involved.

A second-round pick, No. 45 overall out of Texas A&M, Edgerrin Cooper was the first player at his position off the board. Linebacker has been devalued around the league, which allowed the Green Bay Packers to hit on a need and find incredible value.

Cooper will combine with Quay Walker to make one of the most athletic linebacker duos in the NFL. With the Green Bay Packers changing to a 4-3 base defense under Jeff Hafley, the role of the linebackers will change from recent seasons. Both players look up to the task, and hopefully, it translates to production on the field.
