Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love had an incredible first season as the team’s starter. Replacing a legend such as Aaron Rodgers isn’t easy, but he had some help to accomplish that. One of the players who helped was wide receiver Jayden Reed.

Jayden Reed, a second-round pick out of Michigan State, was an immediate contributor for the Green Bay Packers in 2023. He and Jordan Love had immediate chemistry, which resulted in a historic season for the former Spartan.

A Green Bay Packers rookie record of 64 receptions was set by Jayden Reed. He led the team with 793 yards, becoming the first rookie to lead the team in both statistics since Sterling Sharpe in 1988. His eight touchdown receptions were tied for first, and his 10 total touchdowns were tied for third-most by a rookie.

Heading into Year 2, expectations are on the rise for the Green Bay Packers. Star cornerback Jaire Alexander likened Reed to Randall Cobb, who was one of the most productive wide receivers in franchise history.

Whatever the Packers needed from Reed, he provided. He got the job done as a pass catcher, rusher and blocker in the running game. Recently, Jordan Love spoke very highly of the Michigan State product.

“Yeah, he does a lot,” Love said. “Just the explosive playmaker he is, he’s the guy that can win inside in the slot position for us and does a lot of really good things.

“Obviously you see what happens when he gets the ball in his hands. And then just the progression he’s made throughout the season last year, since when he got here, and then obviously now he’s making even more strides. So he’s a phenomenal player, and obviously I think he’s going to have a bigger role this year.”

The Green Bay Packers have a lot of mouths to feed on offense. The team signed running back Josh Jacobs to replace Aaron Jones, re-signed AJ Dillon and drafted MarShawn Lloyd in the third round.

At tight end, the team has Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft. Joining Jayden Reed at wide receiver is Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks. That is a lot of options for Jordan Love to target, as this offense could become one of the most productive in the NFL.
