For years the Green Bay Packers have been a source of production for Fantasy Football managers. With Aaron Rodgers under center, you could count on a handful of players being able to put up big numbers for your team. Without Rodgers, the tune has changed a little bit.

People are unsure of what to expect from the Packers’ offense with Jordan Love taking over. Running backs Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon seem to be the only sure thing, as Matt LaFleur is going to lean on them early and often.

However, the Packers are going to have to eventually throw the ball and someone will have to be targeted. The No. 1 role in the passing offense looks to be owned by second-year wide receiver, Christian Watson.

Watson was excellent during the offseason, showcasing developments in his skill set and overall game. He is poised to break out in 2023, but the Packers are going to need other players to step up behind him.

In the opinion of Matt Bowen from ESPN, that player will be rookie wide receiver Jayden Reed. Reed is who Bowen selected as the Packers’ sleeper candidate for Fantasy Football during the 2023 season.

“There is a path for Reed to see consistent volume as a slot target for Love. Reed can track the ball vertically, and he should also be deployed as a middle-of-the-field target on defined play-action throws in coach Matt LaFleur’s offense where he can use his catch-and-run ability.”

Reed made some plays throughout training camp and the preseason for the Packers. He looks locked into a top-three role in the offense, potentially as the No. 2 option depending on the health of Romeo Doubs.

At the very least, the starting slot job looks to be Reed’s. For years, that was a role that Randall Cobb occupied and produced for the Packers and Fantasy Football managers alike.

Given his dynamic skill set, Reed is someone who could provide a similar impact. The Michigan State product was a dynamic playmaker whether it was as a pass catcher or runner as the Packers looked intent on getting the ball into his hands.
