“Jayden Daniels probably cost my man Dan Quinn his job, to be honest with you,” he said. “To be honest with you. And, like, I’m a big Jayden Daniels fan. But the reality is, he probably cost a lot of people their jobs this past weekend.”
“All respectfully, we get coached so much on these situations that, like, I’m a defensive player, and this (expletive) programmed to me,” Parsons said. “I even know what to do in those situations. There’s no way I’m taking a sack with 14 seconds left and no timeouts. And, mind you, it’d be different if Jayden Daniels was a rookie. This is your third year. This is your third year. You’ve been to the NFC Championship game. You’ve been in big moments before. And to me, like even after a sack, you’re casually getting up.”
Quinn has a 18-20-1 regular-season record with Washington since taking over in 2024, when the team reached the NFC Championship. The club went 5-12 in 2025. He told reporters Monday that no one was pleased with the outcome and that he regularly discusses the team’s direction with owner Josh Harris. Parsons pushed further on accountability.“This is your job, bro,” he said. “This is your job to be prepared to understand the game and understand situations. That’s in your job profile. And you’re telling me, ‘Oh, we’re gonna want to pay this guy eventually $6000000? This cannot happen. I’m a big JD5 fan, but that’s inexcusable, bro.”
He closed by framing the sequence as a failure of fundamentals.“This is a lack of preparation, a lack of mentality, and a lack of urgency,” Parsons said. “That just can’t happen.”
The tie left Washington two games behind the 3-1-1 Giants in the NFC East. Daniels is expected to start Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers. Parsons, still recovering from an ACL tear suffered last December, has not yet returned to practice for Green Bay and is not expected to face Dallas this week.
