Packers Predicted To Go Over Projected Win Total

Projections for the Green Bay Packers are pretty modest for the 2023 season. Given how inexperienced the roster is as a whole, especially on the offensive side of the ball, there isn’t much of a track record to base projections.

The team is also embarking on a new era with Jordan Love taking over as the starting quarterback for the first time in his career. With only 83 regular season passes on his resume, combined with the fact he has no wide receiver with more than one season of NFL experience, it makes sense that projections are modest.

Right now, the Packers are expected to finish near the middle of the pack in the 2023 standings. Their over/under wins line for the season is 7.5, which Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report actually believes the team will surpass. Gagnon thinks the Packers will win eight games this upcoming season.

“There’s little reason to be fired up about the unproven Jordan Love, who isn’t exactly supported by a throng of All-Pros. This is a middle-of-the-pack team at best, and the floor is quite low with Love.”

While many people will see an eight-win season as a disappointment for the Packers, that is the same amount of games that they won last season with Aaron Rodgers under center. If Love can lead them to eight wins in his first season as the starter, people within the organization would likely be ecstatic.

That would be a good foundation to build off of for the future as it would be fair to presume that some of the young players littering the roster showed major improvement in 2023. While all eyes will be on Love, he is far from the only player looking to make a name for himself this season in Green Bay.

His performance will be integral to the team finding success in 2023, but there is a lot of talent on that defense. We have seen plenty of teams succeed with an underwhelming offense because they have a dominant defense.

With potentially eight first-round picks being on the field at the same time defensively, the pieces are in place for that unit to be among the best in the NFL. If they can play up to their potential, buoying the team until the offense finds its rhythm, the Packers will surprise some people.
