The Green Bay Packers are wrapping up their 2023 training camp this weekend, hosting the Seattle Seahawks for their third and final preseason game of the year. The Packers are 1-1 heading into this game, as they defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1 before losing to the New England Patriots in a shortened game in Week 2.
Unlike the first two weeks of the preseason, there were no joint practices this week between the teams. That is probably best for both teams, as they are both looking to make it into the regular season unscathed and with no more injuries.
Heading into the game Saturday afternoon, there are certainly a few players that have something to prove. Nothing is set in stone in terms of the 53-man roster, as players will be attempting to cement their status in Green Bay or perform well enough that another team around the league wants to bring them on.

Head coach Matt LaFleur announced that the Packers starters will be taking part in the game against the Seahawks. How much they play is undetermined, as it will be on a case-by-case basis. Essentially, if the coaching staff sees enough after one drive, their nights will be over. If they want to see more, they will stay out there for a little longer.
Other than that, all eyes will be on the players who are on the roster bubble. Has undrafted rookie Malik Heath surpassed fifth-round pick Dontayvion Wicks on the depth chart? Who will secure the No. 3 running back spot behind Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon?
Defensively, has Brenton Cox Jr. done enough to crack the 53-man roster as an undrafted free agent? Is Rudy Ford locking down the starting safety spot? And what to make of Innis Gaines and Corey Ballentine, who are also special teams standouts?
Those are all things that could be answered depending on how playing time is distributed during the game against the Seahawks. If not on Saturday afternoon, by Tuesday, August 29th, which is cutdown day, we will know for sure.
