Micah Parsons has not taken a snap yet in 2026, but the Green Bay Packers pass rusher already is talking about who might lead the NFL in touchdown passes this fall.
Parsons will start the season on the physically unable to perform list after tearing his ACL late last year. Team reports suggest he could practice around Week 2 and be ready for activation by Week 5.
That timetable would put him back on the field in time for Green Bay’s Week 6 home game against the Dallas Cowboys. The two teams last met when Parsons still wore a Cowboys uniform.
During a recent appearance on the BRGridiron podcast, Parsons was asked which quarterback he expects to throw the most touchdowns in 2026. His answer was immediate.
“I might have to say Dak Prescott.”
Parsons pointed to the weapons around his former quarterback. He noted that Prescott now has two high-end receivers in CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens and that fans never really saw the pair work together at full strength last season because of Lamb’s injury.
Prescott threw 30 touchdown passes in 2025. Parsons, who spent his first four NFL seasons in Dallas before the offseason trade that sent him to Green Bay, clearly still thinks highly of the Cowboys offense.
The Packers acquired Parsons last year and immediately inserted him into the starting lineup. He finished with 12.5 sacks in 14 games, giving Green Bay a consistent edge presence it had lacked.
Teammates and coaches have described his return as a potential turning point for a defense that will need to hold the line while he finishes rehab. Parsons has made steady progress, according to those around the team, and has avoided the setbacks that often follow a late-season ACL tear.
Still, the Packers cannot count on him for the opening month. That reality has put extra pressure on the rest of the front seven to generate pressure until he is cleared.
Parsons has stayed visible on social media as the season approaches. His comments about Prescott generated immediate discussion among fans of both clubs, many of whom remember how the two players once shared a locker room.
The Cowboys open the year with questions of their own after an uneven 2025. Prescott’s supporting cast looks deeper on paper, which is why Parsons believes the touchdown numbers could climb.
Green Bay, meanwhile, is trying to build on last season’s late surge. Adding a healthy Parsons back into the mix would give the defense one of the league’s most disruptive pass rushers at a critical point in the schedule.
Whether Prescott actually leads the NFL in scoring throws remains to be seen. Parsons, at least, is willing to put his name behind the prediction while he waits for medical clearance.
The Packers and Cowboys will settle part of that debate on the field in Week 6 if both players are available. Until then, Parsons’ comments have given fans something to debate as training camps wrap up and the regular season draws closer.
