Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers have had a lot in common throughout their careers with the Green Bay Packers. The way things ended between Favre and the Packers seems to be happening with Rodgers as well. Fans are not pleased with how the Rodgers situation has gone down, but Favre certainly understands the situation better than anyone.

Seeing two superstar and fan favorite quarterbacks leave town in ugly fashion is a lot to stomach for any fan base. But for a team that has been to back-to-back NFC North Championship Games and lost, this is a gut punch. There is still a chance that things could get fixed between Rodgers and the Packers, but nothing has changed thus far.

While the situations aren’t exactly the same, Favre took some time to speak out on the situation between Rodgers and the Packers. His words are true and should bring some calm to fans who are freaking out that Rodgers has yet to report to Green Bay.

“No one should be surprised … it’s not the first time someone’s missed a minicamp or an OTA or a mandatory participation.”

Favre has a very good point about this specific situation. Rodgers certainly is not the first superstar to hold out of the early stages of the season. Plenty of stars have taken their holdout much longer and still played in Week 1.

Rodgers seems to be taking some time away from football to get his mind right. He could also be taking time away to work on the relationship with the Packers without being pressured by being in the building. The Packers could still very well have their MVP quarterback back under center to begin the season against the New Orleans Saints.

It’s completely understandable for fans to have some leftover PTSD from the way they had to watch Brett Favre leave town. When Rodgers replaced Favre, he gave the fans hope again. That has led to a lot of tension this time around with a very similar situation unfolding.

No matter what happens with Aaron Rodgers and whether or not he ends up leaving the Packers, Green Bay will be just fine. Jordan Love may not be the long-term answer, but there is always a chance that he ends up being just that. For now, all we can do is watch and wait, but don’t stress out too much.
