Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams caused quite a stir with his comments following the team’s Week 3 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was yet another disappointing loss for the franchise and the All-Pro could not hide his frustrations.

Davante Adams was very honest with his quotes after the game, saying he doesn’t have time to wait around. It is easy to read between the lines there and figure out that he is insinuating the Raiders don’t have a real shot at competing as currently constructed.

Since those comments, trade rumors have swirled around him. Mock deals have been put together resulting in Davante Adams being traded to teams all around the league. If he is going to be on the move, Matt Lombardo, an NFL insider for Fanbuzz, shared six teams that he could be dealt to.

One of those six is a franchise that Davante Adams is very familiar with; the Green Bay Packers. He spent the first eight seasons of his career in Green Bay and Lombardo believes they could make a deal to bring him back to town.

Along with the Packers, Lombardo named the Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals, San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions as potential landing spots.

All six of those teams have gotten off to starts in the 2023 season which would put them in a position to consider themselves contenders more than the Browns. At the very least, they should all be competing for playoff spots this season, which cannot be said about Las Vegas right now.

The Packers could certainly make a competitive offer to re-acquire Davante Adams, but it is fair to question whether or not he fits their timeline or current plans. Green Bay is in the midst of a youth movement and likely won’t be competing for a championship this season.

If things go well, the Packers could become contenders in the near future. But, the timelines that Davnate Adams and his former team are on aren’t congruent. While coming back to where it all began is a nice headline, Adams would probably prefer landing with a team closer to contention if he is moved at all.
