As we get closer to training camp in the NFL, Jordan Love of the Green Bay Packers recently received some high praise.
Coming into the 2024 season, there might not be a quarterback that more people are intrigued about than Jordan Love. After a slow start in 2023, Love was one of the best quarterbacks in the second half of the season and into the playoffs.
In 2023, Love finished with 4,159 passing yards, 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in his first full season as the starting quarterback. His 2023 season was one of the best in the league, and as a young quarterback coming off his first season as a starter, the sky is the limit for Love.
Recently, former NFL general manager Mike Tannenbaum praised Jordan Love as one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Here’s what he had to say.
“Outside of Patrick Mahomes, if we … were running an NFL team today there is nobody on the planet I’d rather have than Jordan Love,” Tannenbaum said during a recent segment on ESPN’s NFL Live.
This is certainly some high praise for Jordan Love. Building a team in the NFL usually starts at the quarterback position, and there are a lot of talented players. Obviously, choosing Patrick Mahomes as the No. 1 guy is a no-brainer, but Love coming in second is rather shocking.
There are quarterbacks that are still young and have achieved more than Love in the NFL like Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, and Lamar Jackson to name just a few. However, Tannenbaum saying this is an indication that he believes we haven’t seen the best version of Love yet.
Considering Love has only started one full season, his improvement in 2024 for the Packers is certainly possible and probably likely. There are a lot of things to like about Love from his athleticism to his decision-making and the fact that he got better as the season went on.
While we will have to wait and see what 2024 holds for Love, there is a lot of optimism surrounding what he can accomplish this season. Furthermore, a good season for Jordan Love will result in a good year for the Packers.
