Green Bay Packers rookie cornerback Brandon Cisse is preparing to start against the Detroit Lions despite dealing with a shoulder and neck injury that forced him from last week’s victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

Cisse exited that contest with roughly eight minutes remaining after suffering a stinger that left his arm numb, a sensation he later described as requiring patience while feeling returned to his fingers and shoulder.

The team listed him as a limited participant in practice throughout the week, yet Cisse made clear he expects to take his usual place in the lineup at Ford Field.

“I’m rehabbing and doing good,” Cisse told reporters Thursday, according to Bill Huber of Packers On SI.

His assurance comes after a stretch in which health issues have already interrupted half of his starts this season, including earlier stints involving neck, shoulder, and hip concerns.

Still, the second-round pick from the 2026 draft has remained a regular presence, logging 370 defensive snaps across six games—about 88 percent of Green Bay’s total in that phase—while also contributing on special teams.

His production includes 25 combined tackles, a tackle for loss, four pass breakups, two quarterback hits, 1.5 sacks, and an interception.

Those numbers have helped establish Cisse as a productive young contributor opposite Keisean Nixon. Pro Football Network’s player impact score places him at 73.2 through six weeks, ranking 63rd among cornerbacks league-wide, while Nixon sits higher at 18th.

The gap underscores both the room for growth that comes with more consistent snaps and the immediate value Cisse has already delivered as a starter.

His availability carries extra weight against a Detroit offense that ranks among the league’s more productive units, averaging nearly 394 yards per game. The Lions’ attack features strong skill-position talent and an efficient quarterback, creating a demanding test for Green Bay’s secondary.

On the other side of the ball, the Packers hope the return of running back Josh Jacobs can strengthen a rushing attack that has struggled, allowing them to control the clock and limit Detroit’s opportunities.

The Lions enter as three-point home favorites coming off a bye, with the over-under set around 53.5 points, suggesting a high-scoring environment in which every defensive snap matters.

Cisse has spoken about wanting to stay on the field as much as possible, recognizing the impact he can make and the experience that comes from playing through challenges.

For a Packers defense looking to contain one of the NFL’s better offenses, his presence on Sunday offers continuity at a position where durability has already been tested.
