As Josh Jacobs gets ready for his first season with the Green Bay Packers, he recently spoke about his goals with the team.
One of the biggest offseason signings in the league and for the Green Bay Packers was the move that brought Josh Jacobs to Green Bay. Jacobs has been considered one of the best running backs in the NFL since he was drafted out of Alabama, but with the running back position being devalued in the league, Jacobs and the Las Vegas Raiders decided to move on from their relationship.
Now, Jacobs is with a true contender in the NFL in the Green Bay Packers, who not only expect to make the playoffs, but they expect to make some noise in it. Recently Jacobs spoke with NFL.com about some of his goals in Green Bay. Here’s what he had to say.
‘”I can honestly say that as I’m getting older and I’m playing longer, I have a real goal of legacy,” he said. “I think that’s a big thing – wanting to play in important games, play in the playoffs, make a deep run and, you know, play in that game if we get there. That’s big for me. I think that’s the most important thing.”
With the career of a running back in the NFL not being all that long compared to other positions, Jacobs likely knows that his time to win is now and with this Green Bay team. Jacobs is coming off a bit of a disappointing season with Las Vegas, but they were a bad team last season, and Jacobs has shown in his career that he can be one of the best running backs in the league.
For the Green Bay Packers and Josh Jacobs, winning must be paramount now. This is a team, that while mostly young has plenty of talent and already has some playoff experience after last season. While Jacobs has limited playoff experience, he is hungry to succeed.
