There are going to be a lot of eyes on training camp for the Green Bay Packers as things are going to look a lot different. No. 12 won’t be under center as the starter any longer as that job now belongs to No. 10, Jordan Love.

Jordan Love is taking over for Aaron Rodgers, who was traded to the New York Jets earlier this offseason. It has led to a lot of people writing the Packers off already for the upcoming season as there is very little to work with when it comes to projecting what he will do as a first-time starter.

The 2020 first-round pick out of Utah State has made only 10 appearances in the regular season, with one start, in three seasons. That lack of track record is likely why Jordan Love also received such a low rating in this year’s edition of the Madden NFL video game.

Jordan Love received a very underwhelming overall of 70, which is ranked 33rd among quarterbacks in the game. His lack of experience certainly played a part as he is tied with Indianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson.

Packers Wire provided an update on Jordan Love’s overall and gave an in-depth description of his attributes as well. Based on those, a 70 overall seems relatively low and it is hard to believe there are 32 quarterbacks in the NFL better than him at this point.

“Love has 90 throwing power, 81 speed, 85 acceleration, 67 awareness, 73 break sack, 82 throw under pressure, 84 short accuracy, 79 medium accuracy, 79 deep accuracy, 83 throw on the run and 80 play action.”

Without much to work with from an evaluation point of view, Jordan Love’s overall of 70 does make some sense. If there is one thing that Packers fans playing the video game will have in common with the real-life team, it is that an injury to the starting quarterback would be catastrophic for this offense.

Rookie Sean Clifford is the No. 2 quarterback on the virtual depth chart, coming in with an overall of 59. Third-stringer Danny Etling is now the lowest-rated player on the Packers roster, outside of long snapper Matt Orzech who was ranked as a tight end as most long snappers are in the game, coming in with a 48.
