Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is going to have a new partner in crime in the backfield. The team signed Josh Jacobs away from the Las Vegas Raiders to be their new lead back.
Josh Jacobs will have some big shoes to fill in the Packers’ backfield. He will be replacing the dynamic Aaron Jones, who was released this offseason after seven seasons with the team.
Heading into 2024, the team has some major plans for Josh Jacobs. Matt LaFleur has hinted that he will be the team’s go-to back and handle a workhorse load. It isn’t for a lack of depth, but LaFleur and the staff are confident he can bounce back.
A return to form from what the Alabama product put together in 2022 would be excellent for the Packers. He led the NFL in rushing that season, which would take a ton of pressure off of Jordan Love to carry the offense.
That is something Josh Jacobs believes will happen. He recently spoke about the Packers starting quarterback, believing Jordan Love has everything it takes to be a star in the NFL.
“To me, just from what I’ve seen, he has all the traits and all the tools to be a superstar in this league,” Jacobs said. “I think that as he keeps continuing to play and gets experience and becomes more confident in his abilities and what he can do, he’s going to be the next superstar in this league, for sure.”
A lot of the excitement around Green Bay is because of the potential Jordan Love has shown. He was one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL down the stretch of the 2023 season.
The Utah State product will be on a mission to prove that wasn’t a luck last season. Josh Jacobs will be doing his part to make sure the team continues heading in the right direction in 2024 and beyond.
