All eyes have been on Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love since it became apparent that he would be taking over as the team’s starter in 2023. After sitting behind Aaron Rodgers for three seasons, it is now Love’s time to shine.

A first-round pick out of Utah State in 2020, Jordan Love has patiently waited for this opportunity. His chances to play meaningful snaps have been far and few between, as he has made only 10 appearances, including one start, in three years with 83 career pass attempts.

With such a limited sample size, it is tough to predict how well Jordan Love will perform this season. While some people have already written the team off, everyone within the organization has confidence that he will get the job done.

Recently, it was the running back tandem of Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon that heaped praise upon their new starting quarterback. In the opinion of Jones, Jordan Love has come a long way since 2021, when he was thrust into the starting lineup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano of ESPN shared Jones’ comments.

“He’s a different guy [than that Chiefs game],” Jones said. “The playbook wasn’t all the way opened up to him. Now I feel like it is. It was very vanilla, very plain, getting blitzed all out almost every play. I think he’s a completely different player.”

Rodgers was forced to miss that game because of the league’s health and safety protocols. Jordan Love certainly wasn’t ready to step into the starting lineup on short notice, which led to the scaled-back playbook that Jones made mention of.

With an entire offseason now to prepare as the starter, and entering Year 4 with the Packers, it will be all systems go offensively. Dillon agreed with what Jones said, adding that the entire locker room has bought in to the new leader of the offense.

“Everyone was locked into what the quarterback had to say, and you know when guys are respecting and really want to play for somebody like, ‘All right, this is what we’re doing, QB1, let’s ball,'” Dillon said. “It’s definitely a new era here. … I think he’s going to have a hell of a career. I’m excited to be a part of the first team to have a go at it with him.”

There will certainly be a few bumps in the road, as there always are when a major change is made. But, the Packers are confident that Jordan Love will succeed and he is ready to prove all of his doubters wrong.
