The Green Bay Packers, for the most part, have outperformed expectations to this point. They are 2-1 on the season after a miraculous comeback against the New Orleans Saints in Week 3. After getting shut out for three quarters and trailing 17-0 entering the fourth, the Packers roared back to win the game 18-17.

It was a huge win for the team, as it was Jordan Love’s first start at Lambeau Field. Getting shutout in his debut would have been a tough way to start, but he erased the disastrous first three quarters with an incredible fourth quarter.

It was the opposite of how things unfolded for the Packers in Week 2. On the road against the Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay held a 12-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. They were unable to close the deal, losing 25-24.

Despite that loss, they moved up in the NFL Power Rankings over at USA Today. Like their fourth quarter, that flipped as well. Despite defeating the Saints in Week 3, the Packers took a tumble down the rankings done by Nate Davis.

“They were fortunate to win their home opener, but you also have to admire their grit given the continued absences of CB Jaire Alexander, LT David Bakhtiari, G Elgton Jenkins, RB Aaron Jones and WR Christian Watson.”

It was quite an impressive feat picking up a victory despite missing so many key pieces. The toughness and fortitude of the team were on full display as many would have packed it in, especially after the tough start.

It wasn’t a big fall for Green Bay, who went from No. 12 last week to No. 15 this week. Their opponent, the Saints, also saw a big drop. They went from No. 8 to No. 16, one spot behind the Packers, as they suffered their first loss of the season.

The Packers will be facing another tough test in Week 4 as they will host the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football. The NFC North rivals will be playing for division supremacy, as the winner will be in sole possession of first place.
