Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander has cemented himself as not only the best player on the team, but one of the best players in the entire NFL. He has earned such praise with his performance on the field as he is coming off his second Pro Bowl and All-Pro Second-Team nomination of his career.

In 16 games last season, Alexander recorded five interceptions and 14 passes defended, providing lockdown defense on one half of the field. He added 56 total tackles and four tackles for loss for good measure.

Praise for Alexander has not been lacking this offseason, as he was recognized as one of the top-10 cornerbacks in the NFL by league personnel. His Madden 24 video game rating is also very impressive, as he received the highest mark on the Packers and was once again rated as one of the best at his position in the league.

The praise hasn’t slowed down, as now PFF is showering Alexander with some. They released their PFF50 throughout the month of July and recently, Alexander’s spot on the rankings was revealed.

He came in at No. 28 overall and was selected as the fourth-best cornerback. A big reason for such a lofty ranking is that he is the highest-graded cornerback in single coverage over the last two seasons in the NFL according to PFF.

Having Alexander in the lineup certainly makes life easier for defensive coordinator Joe Barry. Creating schemes and game plans is a lot simpler when you know that one-half of the field will be locked down on a weekly basis.

The star Louisville product ended up being the only Packers player to land in the PFF50. However, if things pan out for some of the young players on the roster, he should be joined on that list by teammates in no time. Had it not been for the torn ACL that he suffered last season, pass rusher Rashan Gary likely would have joined Alexander in the PFF50.
