The Green Bay Packers have dealt with the Aaron Rodgers drama all offseason long and every fan has gotten sick of the entire situation. Whether or not Rodgers will play this season remains to be seen, but there could be another worry for Green Bay. Davante Adams is entering the final season of his deal and has been vocal about his support of Rodgers.

Pro Football Focus called attention to that fact and their analyst, Brad Speilberger, talked a bit about the situation.

“The Packers should be more focused on locking Davante Adams into a top-of-market extension than the Rodgers saga.”

Adams absolutely should be a priority for the Packers. He is arguably the best wideout in the NFL right now and is in the middle of his prime. Even if Rodgers were to leave, Jordan Love would be in good hands with Adams as his No. 1 target.

During the 2020 NFL season with the Packers, Adams ended up catching 115 passes for 1,374 yards and 18 touchdowns. He was able to record those numbers in 14 games. In addition to him missing two games, Adams was ailed by nagging injury issues at times throughout the year.

At 28 years of age, the Packers should definitely focus on getting a big-time four-year deal done with their superstar receiver. Being able to bring Rodgers back is definitely a priority as well, but they can’t afford to lose both their superstar quarterback and their superstar wideout. If Adams is open to working on an extension, the Packers should do everything they can to get it done.

It will be interesting to see what the rest of the offseason holds for the Packers. Green Bay should be a serious Super Bowl contender once again this season if Rodgers does return. Davante Adams has loved his time with the Packers and it would be wise to value him just as much as Rodgers at this point in time.

Expect to hear more rumors coming out of Green Bay in the near future. With training camp right around the corner, we should get some clarity on all of the situations that are brewing.
