As we get ready for the start of the 2024 season, why is Green Bay Packers’ Jordan Love going to be a star quarterback in the league?

The Green Bay Packers are getting ready for a bit 2024 season, in which they are expected to be true contenders in the NFC. After last season, the Packers now have some big expectations to compete and they will need their quarterback, Jordan Love to repeat what he did last season.

Love’s development in 2023 was crucial for the Packers having a great second half of the season. With a good season under his belt, Love is now going to be trying to become an elite quarterback in the league.

Recently, Ted Nguyen of The Athletic spoke about why Jordan Love is going to be a very successful quarterback in the league. Here’s what he had to say.

“Love threw for 32 touchdowns and, according to Pro Football Focus, his turnover-worthy play rate was the 29th-lowest among qualifying quarterbacks (2.6 percent),” Nguyen explained. “…In the last quarter of the season, he looked completely comfortable in his process pre- and post-snap. In Weeks 10-18, Love ranked second in expected points added (EPA) per dropback on throws without play action.”

Love reaching elite-level status in the league looks very probable after what we saw last season. As he heads into his second season as the starting quarterback in the league, there is a lot of room for improvement still.

In addition to Love getting better, the Green Bay Packers have done a nice job surrounding Love with some young talent that should be getting better as well.

As mentioned by Nguyen, Jordan Love’s ability to protect the ball down the stretch is very important, as games are usually determined by who has more possessions late in the game. Hopefully, Love will continue to develop and improve, which will result in a lot of wins for the Green Bay Packers.
