The Green Bay Packers performance in Week 2 was nowhere near as clean as it was in Week 1. As a result, they lost on the road to the Atlanta Falcons 25-24 as they had a lot of miscues that eventually added up to a defeat.
Head coach Matt LaFleur was not happy when talking about the film, as he said it was tough to get through. Rewatching his team blowing a 12-point lead cannot be an easy thing to do, especially when there were opportunities to put the game away.
The offense faltering in the fourth quarter, gaining only seven yards on their final 10 plays of the game, certainly hurt. While the Packers are disappointed at the outcome, there are some Fantasy Football managers who did like what they saw.
Over at PFF, Nathan Jahnke put together a list of players who you should be looking to add to your fantasy football team after Week 2. One of the players who made his list was Packers quarterback Jordan Love.
Love threw the ball only 25 times against the Falcons, completing 14 of them for only 151 yards. The efficiency hasn’t been there in the early going, as he has completed only 55.8 percent of his passes overall. But, he threw for another three touchdowns, which ties him for the most in the NFL through the first two weeks of the season.
Similarly to the Packers, Love won’t hurt your Fantasy Football team with turnovers. He has yet to throw an interception in two games, taking care of the ball. He isn’t in the top 20 in the league in passing yards, but Love is someone who should be on your radar.
Part of what makes him so intriguing is that he is putting up these numbers without having his full complement of offensive weapons. Wide receiver Christian Watson has yet to play this season because of a hamstring injury. Running back Aaron Jones missed Week 2 because of a hamstring injury. Wide receiver Romeo Doubs has played in both games but has been limited by, you guessed it, a hamstring injury.
That has led to Love relying on rookie wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks and Jayden Reed, who combined to catch all three of his touchdowns against the Falcons. Tight end Luke Musgrave is playing in all personnel packages as well, making him another player to keep an eye on in the world of Fantasy Football as a high-upside target at a barren wasteland of tight end production.
The only thing working against Love right now is that the offensive line is going to have at least one new long-term start with left guard Elgton Jenkins suffering an MCL injury in Week 2. But, this is an offense that looks to have some real potential when everyone is healthy, making Love a hidden gem in Fantasy Football.
