The Green Bay Packers have a special weapon defensively in cornerback Jaire Alexander. He has received plenty of praise this offseason, being named one of the best cornerbacks and players overall in the NFL.

He was the highest-rated Packers player on NFL Network’s Top 100, coming in at No. 26. In the PFF50, he came in at No. 28 overall and was the No. 4 ranked player at his position. In rankings done by executives, coaches and scouts around the league, he also came in at No. 4, finishing in the top five in back-to-back seasons.

Such lofty praise has been earned by Jaire Alexander, who had his second Pro Bowl and All-Pro Second Team nominations of his career in 2022. He recorded a career-high five interceptions to go along with 14 passes defended and 56 total tackles.

According to PFF, Jaire Alexander has been the highest-rated cover cornerback in the NFL the last two seasons as well. Recording receptions and production against him certainly isn’t easy, and he took a subtle shot at wide receivers around the NFL with some recent comments that he made.

“Ain’t nobody that I feel is tough. Because if a receiver beat me, it’s probably something that I did,” Alexander said to PFF on the toughest receivers he faces.

That is certainly a bold statement by Jaire Alexander, who has supreme confidence in his skill set. It isn’t misplaced, either, as he has had some big performances since joining the Packers and becoming the leader of their secondary.

None bigger than Week 16 last season against the Minnesota Vikings. Jaire Alexander played a big part in Vikings’ star wide receiver Justin Jefferson being held to only one reception for 15 yards.

This season, the Louisville product will be tested once again. The NFC North has some bonafide studs at the wide receiver position in Jefferson, Amon-Ra St. Brown and D.J. Moore that Jaire Alexander will match up with six times throughout the season. Matchups with Davante Adams, Cooper Kupp, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are also on the docket this season.
