4. Jayden Reed Bursts Onto Scene
The Packers are already dealing with some major injury concerns heading into Week 1. Half of their wide receiver depth chart has been on the injury report, with the most concerning being Christian Watson.
He didn’t participate in practice on Wednesday or Thursday, which puts his availability in doubt for Sunday. Even if he suits up, it will likely be on a limited basis, opening the door for someone else to step up.
That person will be rookie Jayden Reed. Locked into the starting slot role, he could become Love’s No. 1 option this weekend with Watson and Romeo Doubs both battling hamstring injuries.
He will have a dynamic debut, recording at least 70 yards receiving and scoring at least one touchdown.
3. D.J. Moore Proves To Be a Problem
The Bears No. 1 goal this offseason was to upgrade the weapons around Fields. They accomplished that, with the crown jewel being wide receiver D.J. Moore. Moore was acquired in the blockbuster deal with the Carolina Panthers, who landed the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The impact that Moore will have cannot be understated. He is a bonafide No. 1 receiver, recording three 1,000+ yard campaigns and having at least 788 yards in all five seasons of his career.
Packers cornerback Rasul Douglas spoke about how difficult it will be to slow him down and his words will ring true. Moore will be the game’s leading receiver, breaking the century mark and providing the kind of spark Chicago was hoping for.
