Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are still going through a drama-filled situation with neither side budging on what they currently want. All the reports have stated that Rodgers doesn’t want to play another snap for Green Bay. On the other side of things, the Packers have remained steadfast in not wanting to trade their superstar quarterback.

It’s a situation that every single fan of every team has been paying attention to. There is still a chance that the two sides can fix things, but there is also still a chance that the Packers will end up having to trade their MVP quarterback.

Former Packers star wide receiver Antonio Freeman has come out and revealed what would bring Rodgers back to Green Bay for the 2021 season.

“Show me the money. He’ll be back if the money’s right. He’s the only top-15 quarterback with no guaranteed money. I feel you, Aaron.”

Freeman was one of Brett Favre’s favorite targets during his career. He was a fan favorite for the Packers and was a very productive player himself. While he may not know the specifics of this situation, he absolutely has to know more than the average fan would know.

Rodgers has always been paid lower than the top-paid quarterbacks in the NFL. That is something that hasn’t necessarily been a dealbreaker for him to this point. However, after the Packers went out and traded up for Jordan Love, there is a chance that Rodgers realizes that he is at a point in his career where he needs to cash in while he can.

Last season, Rodgers put together arguably the best year of his career. He completed 70.7 percent of his pass attempts for 4,299 yards, 48 touchdowns, and just five interceptions. That led to him winning the NFL MVP award.

With training camp right around the corner, the Packers will need to figure things out with Aaron Rodgers quickly. If they are unable to get something done, they might just have to head into Week 1 with Love as their starter. That would take Green Bay from being a Super Bowl favorite to on the bubble when it comes to a playoff appearance.

Expect to hear a lot more about the Rodgers and Packers situation in the coming days and weeks. The clock is ticking on the two sides figuring this out, but perhaps money could be a good starting point to fixing things.
